With 6GB of GDDR6 memory, it comfortably handles the vast majority of current and recent AAA titles at 1080p on medium-to-high settings with smooth frame rates, and it will fly through esports titles at high settings and high frame rates. It doesn’t support ray tracing or DLSS the way NVIDIA’s RTX cards do, so if the newest titles lean heavily on those features you’ll want to keep settings conventional rather than expecting ray-traced visuals, but for straightforward rasterized gaming performance, this is a genuinely satisfying card that outperforms most GPUs found in this price bracket.

The quad-core i5-6500 behind it is an older chip, so in a small number of heavily CPU-bound titles it may be the limiting factor rather than the graphics card, but for the vast majority of games the GTX 1660 Super is doing the heavy lifting and delivering results well above what you’d expect at this price. As a refurbished unit, some light cosmetic wear is possible, but every system is functionally tested before it ships, and the full-size 1TB SSD means your whole library loads fast — not just your primary game. If you’re after the best gaming performance-per-pound in our budget refurbished range, this is it.

Who it’s for: this is the pick in our budget refurbished range for gamers who want genuine current-title performance rather than esports-only capability — think shooters, open-world games, and recent releases at 1080p medium-to-high settings, not just older or lightweight titles. It suits gamers upgrading from an entry-level GPU who want a noticeable, tangible performance jump without paying for a brand-new system.

Every machine we sell has already been unboxed, cleaned, inspected and functionally tested by a technician before it’s approved for listing, so the usual risk of buying secondhand computer hardware has already been handled on your behalf. We’d rather be straightforward about exactly what this graphics card delivers than talk it up beyond what it can actually achieve, because that honesty is what keeps customers coming back to us for their next upgrade.

Specifications

Processor: Intel Core i5-6500, 4 cores / 4 threads, up to 3.60GHz

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super, 6GB GDDR6

Memory: 16GB DDR4

Storage: 1TB SSD

Operating System: Windows 11 Professional

Form Factor: HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Tower

Condition: Professionally refurbished and tested

Connectivity: USB 3.0, DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet
